The Cascade/Electrosol (Now Finish) Comparison

A couple of months ago I was sent two kind of dishwasher liquid to try out.

I was sent a bottle of Electrasol (which I believe is called Finish now) and a bottle of Cascade.

I really hope that the PR company that sent this to me was representing Cascade because the honest truth is that the Cascade worked about twice as well as the Finish.

Dishwasher detergent is one of those things you don't think about much until you get a hold of some that doesn't work, and I thought about it a lot when I was using the Electrasol. I hate having to run the dishwasher twice.

To be completely honest, I have been using Cascade for years and after doing this experiment I plan on continuing to use it.

I thought about detergent the other day when I went to unload the dishwasher and the soap container popped open still full of soap. Checked dishes anyway because had some soap in pre-wash cup, and amazingly, dishes were spotless (including the burnt-on lasagna pan) while only using that bit of prewash. I'll now be adding half of what I used to. I always buy the Costco generic granular cause it's cheap, but apparently it's very effective, too.

I totally agree - I get the huge cascades at the BJ's!

Thanks a lot for this write-up, you have wrote exactly what me and my wife are feeling currently.
We are new to diswashing using dishwasher and started with Cascade, but this time to try something different I bought Finish. After using finish it was so obvious that the results were nowhere near Cascade, but I wanted to see what google search result shows about other people opinion, and you blog tells our exact feeling. Now our problem is we bought the big Finish pack and I hate that we are struck with it, till the pack gets over :(
